FIRE ALARM SYSTEMS

There are three main types of fire alarm systems:

• Addressable system – a fire alarm system that is flexible and can be tailored to fit your specific business needs, providing accurate detection and real-time updates.
• Conventional system – is a budget-friendly fire alarm option for smaller setups that don’t need complicated features, and it is organized into zones to show which areas are affected.
• Radio interlinked and hybrid system – is a high-end choice that ensures maximum safety with wireless connections, reliability, and advanced detection capabilities.

Fire alarm systems function by identifying signs of fire and sending a message to a control panel. This panel then triggers alarms and alerts to inform everyone in the building. Various detection methods are used, including heat sensors, smoke sensors, and flame sensors. When a fire is found, the system sets off alarms like sirens and flashing lights to warn people. It may also activate other equipment, like fire shutters or fire suppression systems, to help control the fire.

This partly depends on the nature and size of your facility and systems. As a minimum, your fire alarm should be serviced bi-annually by a competent engineer, but many sites will require at least quarterly inspections.
