Fire alarm monitoring in the UK is facing major changes due to the phase-out of traditional communication networks and providers. Analogue phone lines (PSTN) are being switched off by December 2025, and 3G mobile networks are also being decommissioned. Many fire alarm systems still rely on these older technologies to send emergency signals to Alarm Receiving Centres (ARCs), meaning these systems could stop working if no action is taken.

At the same time, BT Redcare—one of the UK’s leading fire alarm signalling providers—is shutting down its services by August 2025. This affects a large number of properties across the country. To help with the transition, AddSecure has acquired parts of Redcare’s business and is offering replacement solutions to ensure fire alarms remain monitored and compliant.

All Blazequel clients can rest assured that their systems remain fully compliant. We have already taken measures to upgrade all systems that were running on analogue lines and 3G mobile networks, and all Redcare devices have been migrated to the AddSecure platform. If we don’t already monitor your fire alarm, please reach out to – we’ll be glad to give you peace of mind.
